- Distribution: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
Reasons for Upsurge:
- Absence of natural enemies in the invaded regions for pest control.
- Excessive use of chemical pesticides and staggered plantings contributing to the pest outbreak.
